Country Cloth is locally sourced cotton hand woven on a drop spindle to make strips of fabric. Country Cloth is the traditional fabric of paramount chiefs and was used as currency at one point in history. The Mende tribe in Sierra Leone are most commonly known for Country Cloth.
This jacket will plant and grow 10 trees as part of Freetown City Council's "Freetown The Tree Town" campaign. Tree planting remains one of the most effective strategies for climate change mitigation, and urban tree planting helps communities see benefits decades after planting.
